
Lakshadweep
is an isolated part of India, consists of a group of coral islands floating
in the blue water of the Arabian Sea. The coral islands of Lakshadweep are
situated at a distance of 400 kms from the state of Kerala. There are 36
islands, but only 10 island have human habitats and two are open to
visitors. Other 26 islands run short of drinking water therefore no human
habitat is developed. Lakshadweep islands offer picturesque beaches that are
ideal for a relaxing beach holiday. The most striking feature of Lakshadweep
beaches is the calm and uninhabited atmosphere. The beauty of palm-fringed
beaches is enhanced by the coral reefs and blue lagoons. In Lakshadweep you

Kavaratti Beach
Kavaratti is the capital of Lakshadweep. The most developed island has a
fine beach where you can relax and sunbathe. Kavaratti Beach offers
adventure options like swimming, snorkeling, kayaking, sailing, windsurfing
and several other water sports. The Dolphin dive centre and the Marine
aquarium are the famous attractions near Kavaratti Beach.
Minicoy Beach
Minicoy is crescent shaped island situated in the southernmost end of
Lakshadweep. The beach offers facilities such as the bathing huts and
changing rooms. Popular attractions of Minicoy Beach are 300 ft tall
lighthouse, the local boat races called 'Jajadoni' and the lave dance.
Kalpeni
Beach
Kalpeni forms a coral atoll alongwith Cheriyam, Pitti and Tilakam. To the
south-east of the island is a huge mass of coral forms an wonderful sight.
Known for its scenic beauty, Kalpeni is the ideal place to enjoy swimming,
snorkeling, kayaking, pedal boating and sailing.
Kadmat Beach
The island extending to a length of 8 kms is popular for its beaches,
lagoons and scuba diving facilities. The clean sandy beach is perfect for
sunbathing. After sunbathe relax in the beach huts and see the natural
beauty around you. Adventure seekers can venture out to enjoy the kayaking,
sailing, water skiing or pedal boat riding. Kadmat is one of the finest
scuba diving destinations in India. One can see tropical fishes, sharks and
rays while diving of the beach.
Bangaram Beach

Bangaram
is situated near Kavaratti and Agatti islands. It is an uninhibited island
known for its beautiful beach. The teardrop-shaped island is open for
foreign tourists. Bangaram Beach is also famous for the bio-luminescent
plankton which make the beach glow with a blue light at night.
Agatti Beach
Agatti Beach is the only place in Lakshadweep having an airport. The beach
is ideal to relax and enjoy a memorable beach holiday.
Best Season to Visit
Lakshadweep has tropical climate, the temperature vary between 36°C
and 20°C. The south-west monsoon bring rain between June to September
and the north-east monsoon come in between October to January. Lakshadweep
beaches provide coolness even in the hottest summer months, so they can be
traveled throughout the year. November to May is the best season to visit
Lakshadweep.
