Situated
along the warm and boundless blue of the Arabian Sea, Goa offers endless
reasons for great sojourns in perfect solitude, far from the busy life of
cities. The 125 kms long coastline of Goa is dotted with picturesque,
sun-kissed beaches. The spectacular expanse of a beautiful coastline is
flanked by thousands of palm and coconut trees. Goa beaches offer plenty of
opportunities for water-sports like parasailing, yatching, windsurfing, deep
sea diving etc. As the sun goes down, the beaches become alive with
throbbing music and liquid cheer of the beach bars. In addition, every sort
of accommodation fringe the beaches, ranging from deluxe resorts to budget
lodgings.
Anjuna Beach
Often referred to as the "Abode of Hippies", Anjuna Beach is one
of the most popular beaches in Goa. Anjuna beach is situated at a distance
of 8 kms from Mapusa and 1.5 kms from Baga. The area was discovered by a
group of travellers in the late 1950s to mid 1960s. Anjuna gained popularity
for its Trance Parties and the Hippies who tried to synthesize the
traditions of the East and the art and music of the West. Anjuna beach comes
live with its famous full-moon beach parties that continue through out the
night. Besides the full-moon parties, Wednesday Flea market is another
attraction of Anjuna Beach. The market offers anything a tourist desires,
right from swim suits to second hand bikes to cameras. You can also enjoy
the delicious Goan cuisine, right from mouth-watering sea food to delectable
pork vindaloo.
Baga Beach
Baga Beach is a small beach, located 10 kms west of Mapusa. Basically an
extension of Calangute Beach, Baga is a wonderful combination of land and
Sea. Baga is situated between the Colva and Calangute beach, and the white
sandy beach is a perfect place to enjoy some peaceful moments. The fishing
village is attractive to foreigners mainly for the reasons of sea bath and
sun bath. Beside the scenic beauty of the Beach, the Retreat House perched

in comparison to other beaches of Goa. Bogmalo was the natural habitat of
the fishermen and considered ideal for holidaymakers. Inside the fishing
village, the white-bright chapel is a spot to be must seen.
Calangute Beach
15 kms from Panaji and 10 kms from Mapusa, Calangute is the busiest and
most commercialized beach of Goa. The calm and quiet fishermen village,
Calangute became the favourite hideout of the Hippies in the decades of
1970-80. Hoppies are no more there but Calangute attracts the tourists from
all over the world. Sunset at Calangute marked with the golden glimpse of
the sand-beach is very attractive. Calangute Beach is also ideal for water
sports like Parasailing, Water Skiing and Wind Surfing. Church of St. Alex
and Kerkar Art Gallery are nearby attractions.
Colva Beach

Margao and 40 kms away from Panaji. Also known as Koleam, Colva is a domain
of natural heavenly beauty. The silvery coast of the Colva, fringed with
coconut and palm grooves make it must visit for the tourists. The lustre of
